We met Linn Koch-Emmery in the autumn of last year to talk about her excellent debut EP Boys. But it’s clear she’s not the kind to sit still for very long, because she’s already back with a brand new single. Wires is the sound of Koch-Emmery moving her sound forward in baby steps, sticking close to Boys‘ mix of fuzz and melody, but stretching out into a more expansive sound with an extra degree of rawness and emotional depth. Koch-Emmery says: “Wires is about having a secret masterplan without telling someone about it. It’s about all those things that you keep in your mind until they’re ready to blow up in reality”.
You can catch it live at Debaser Strand on Friday, as Koch-Emmery plays her first show in Stockholm since the release of the single. She’s joined on support duties by colourful pop band La Lusid and Gothenburg punks Katthem. Doors open at 20:00 and Toppar och Dalar.
