Look, if you don’t know who Grace Jones is at this point, we can’t help you. The music, style and cultural icon is currently up for onscreen examination in director Sophie Fiennes’ documentary Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami, and it’s coming to Stockholm as part of CinemAfrica’s festival. CinemAfrica are showing the documentary with Moderna Museet as part of the museum’s filmklubben series, with movies and bar hanging combined. The film will be shown at 18:00, then there’s a conversation and Q’n’A with Sophie Fiennes after the showing. Then Moderna Museet’s bar is hosting a party in Jones’ honour until 00:00. The festival’s Dina Afkhampour says of the film: “the Grace Jones biography and the Sammy Davis Jr biography, those two were to me were such eye-openers. They aren’t just about the music from these two geniuses, but instead more the culture they come from, and the historical perspective them come from”.
