Zacharias Zachrisson (yep, he’s Lykke Li’s brother) used to be in Tussilago, but left the band directly after the release of their debut album Holy Train back in 2015. After spending a couple of years writing, the multi-instrumentalist has now re-invented himself as Vacation Forever, making music he describes as ‘tropical emo’. His debut single Blank Ocean is dreamy, vapourwave-influenced pop music, airy, spacey production that eventually floats into a epic, singalong chorus.
Zachrisson only played his first Stockholm show as Vacation Forever a couple of weeks ago (he suffers from stagefright), but he’s now already back with another. He plays the POP XL night at Slakthuset on Friday, with his live band the Bamboo Hell Boys, which includes members of Tella Viv. Doors open at 22:00.
