Pizza is pretty much always good, but some pizzas are better than others. Stockholm is currently in the grip of a thriving pizza culture, with more and more restaurants aiming to take the dish and put their own spin on it. We rounded up some of the best.
GALINAS
Teatern is the circular food hall at the heart of the Ringen Centrum shopping centre, and Gavinas is their pizza place. Run by Oskar Larsson and Eloi Berthelin, they serve Neapolitan pizza cooked in a 450 degree and highlights include the No.8, with goat’s cheese, bacon, mozzarella and jalapenos. They also have vegetarian and vegan options.
TAVERNA BRILLO
Something a little unusual here. As part of their new brunch menu, Taverna Brillo are offering what they’re calling Breakfast Pizza, topped with vitamin and mineral-packed ingredients like spinach and avocado to help you shake off your hangover. It’s available from Monday to Friday.

OMNIPOLLOS HATT
A venue better suited to a little later in the evening that Brillo’s breakfast pizza, Omnipollos Hatt is a cosy bar and pizza joint that serves craft beers and popular pizzas. They have nine craft brews on tap, and their pizzas range from mozzarella and chorizo classics to a little more experimental ruccola, cherry tomato, pumpkin seed, almond and honey number.

MENO MALE
Another Neapolitan place, Meno Male offers nice wines and topping-heavy, high-quality pizzas cooked in a ninety second burst in the oven. Our reviewer said their “Nduja [is] an orgy of flavours, featuring provola smoked mozzarella, nduja spicy salami, truffle salami and grana padano cheese. The signature pizza is quite the decadent treat – we savour every single bite”.
800 GRADER
800 Grader’s motto is ‘Eat Pizza Everyday’. Well, they would say that. One of their specialities is their asparagus pizza, with ricotta and kale, and they also offer natural wines.
TRÄDGÅRDEN
The summer club now does pizza too. If you don’t fancy taking a break from their dancefloors to grab one of their burgers, this year they’re started offering Italy’s favourite as an option too. And because it’s Trädgården, there are obviously vegetarian and vegan versions of everything.

EATALY
The international Italian food stores, market and restaurant chain finally came to Stockholm earlier this year. And it’s obvious that their range includes a certain disk-shaped dish. They’ve got the restaurant La Pasta & La Pizza (no subtlety here) and the La Pizza alla Pala eatery serves thin-crust, street-food style pizza.
FECA
Deep in the heart of Södermalm, Feca is hailed as an authentic Italian joint, with pizza, pasta, and a long and broad wine menu. They also have an impressively big vegan menu, that even extends to ice cream and Panna Cotta.
