‘Återwin-Win’ Recycling Campaign Returns For 2018

It’s that time of year again. Every autumn, Atrium Ljungberg and the second-hand social clothing stores Stadsmissioner launch a recycling campaign called ‘Återwin-Win’, to encourage people to recycle their old clothing. Swedes buy on average 13 kg of new clothes a year. And then Sweden throws away 70 000 tonnes of clothing in the normal rubbish every year. So the country could stand to do better when it comes to recycling clothes.

Which is where ‘Återwin-Win’ comes in. People can instead donate their old clothing to benefit people in need. The donated clothing will be sold at Stadmission’s stores, where the profits go to help vulnerable people, or given out through Stadsmission’s various social services. That way they avoid the landfill and contribute to something good.  Atrium Ljungberg and Stadsmission have opened up three collection centres in Stockholm, at Söderhallarna, Sickla Centrum and Farsta Centrum. Those who donate will have their name added to Atrium Ljungberg’s ‘Wall Of Fame’, put together by a local artist.

“We are unbelievably happy that so many take part and donate year after year. Now we want to pay tribute to all of these wonderful people. Their donations mean so much for so many, and we want them to know their donations really make a difference. They are really heroes!”, says Emma Henriksson, Head Of Digital Development and Sustainability at Atrium Ljungberg.

The donation centres will be open between October 12 and 21.
