GIG: YAEGER
Rising popstar Yaeger, aka Hanna Jäger, started to bubble up last year after the release of her debut single Ocean, a slick, subtle piece of nimble electro-pop. Ocean’s just breached the 250,000 streams mark on Spotify, and she’s since dropped another couple of singles. On Friday another arrives, I Need A, and will celebrate with a release party at Slakthuset the day after.

Södra Teatern’s club Bangers And Mash is one of the institutions of the Stockholm rock scene, and another institution of that scene is guesting it on Saturday. EXHIBITION: CHARLOTTE WALENTIN
The aim of a lot of the artist Charlotte Walentin’s work is to move canvas pieces past the two-dimensional and into the three. She rips, tears, folds and reworks her pieces till they become fully 3-D pieces that exist physically in the same world as the observer, not just as something to be looked at. In this exhibition, Middle Ground, at Elastic Gallery, 300 x 150 cm canvas functions as the start point for Walentin, before she works them into something new.
It’s open until December 15.
Nov 16, 17, Elastic Gallery
GIG: VITA BERGEN/ KLARA & JAG
Vita Bergen’s 2017 album Retriever proved that they know their way around a chorus, with tracks like Nixon some of that year’s most instantly-recognisable. Their hyper-melodic indie-rock won them fans over Europe last year, and especially a lot in Hornstull – last time they came to Strand it sold out. They’re here on support duties by electro-pop duo Klara & Jag.
