Musikhjälpen

Sveriges Radio’s Musikhjälpen may be in Lund this year, but that doesn’t mean that Stockholm can’t get in on the act. The booth in Lund opened yesterday, with these year’s theme being “Alla har rätt att funka olika” (Everyone Has The Right To Live Differently), with the money raised going to disabled children and young people in low-income countries, who often lack the support services they need. Daniel Adams-Ray, Farah Abadi and William Spetz are hosting the live broadcast in Lund, but in Stockholm on Thursday there’ll be another way to get involved. Debaser and Musikguiden i P3 are hosting an enormous live concert with the proceeds going to Musikhjälpen, and three of Sweden’s best rock bands are playing.

Opening up are two of the most talented young artists on the Swedish rock scene, fuzz pop star Linn Koch-Emmery and Gothenburg rock duo Pale Honey. And then headlining proceedings you’ll find the iconic lunatics The Hives. There will also be plenty of star power behind the DJ decks, Diskopunk, Hanna Järver and Maja Francis among the artists taking their turn, along with P3’s Tina Mehrafzoon and Emma Vikström, SR’s Lia Westerberg, Amanda Sharp and Klara Cron of Uppgång & Fall and FGT’s Stephanie Winter.

The evening’s host Tina Mehrafzoon says “It feels super fun that Pelle is back, and this time with the whole band. We at Musikguiden i P3 are really glad that they’re coming to light up our party”.

You can find tickets here. And you can keep up with the rest of Musikhjälpen on their website, as well as downloading the official app with the option to donate, request songs and watch live here.
