Next weekend gives Stockholmers an opportunity to get up to speed with the best in new Italian film, when the Cinema Made In Italy festival opens at Biograf Saga. The festival will be showing some of the most critically acclaimed Italian films of the last few years, all for the first time on Swedish soil. Several of the figures behind the films will also be present at the festival for talks and Q’n’As. The festival opens on March 21, with Paolo Virzi’s film Notti Magiche, the plot of which involves the murder of a film director. Three of the film’s stars, Mauro Lamantia, Giovanni Toscano and Irene Vetere, will be present at the screening. The festival continues until March 24.

March 21: Notti Magiche

March 22: Dafne/ Bangla
Special guest: Phaim Bhuiyan, director and protagonist.

March 23: Lucia’s Grace (Troppa Grazia)
Special guests: Gianni Zanasi, director and Rita Rognoni, producer.

The Man Who Bought the Moon (L’uomo che comprò la luna)
Special guests: Jacopo Cullin, actor and Benito Urgu

March 24: Boys Cry (La terra dell’abbastanza)
Special guest: Matteo Olivetti, actor

We’ll Be Young and Beautiful (Saremo giovani e bellisimi)
