Confetti is a online event-hosting website, and this weekend they’re also responsible for bringing a gang of hackers and innovation junkies to Under Bron, when they host the hackathon Hackfest at the venue. A hackathon is a simple concept, where are group of people are challenged to build or programme a new product or design in a limited time period, usually with a theme, with the best winning. As it’s being held at Under Bron, Saturday’s will, as you might imagine, be centred loosely around the theme ‘party’. “Tune your smoke-machine, code a strobe-app, or maybe you’ll be the one to build Sweden’s first Fireball fountain?”, goes the brief.
Several of the participants have been put together by Confetti, and include YouTubers, artists and people who work with the grinds and gears of companies like Spotify and Mindcraft, along with applicants from the general public. Everything built during the hackathon will then be on display in a mini-exhibition when Under Bron opens at 22:00, when the general public can see the various newly created toys in action.
The hackathon runs between 09:00 and 21:00 on Saturday, with doors opening to the public at 22:00.
