Weekend Fool's Gold

GIG: BEVERLY KILLS/ PHARMACIST
Beverly Kills are Gothenburg’s new rising stars, a band that take a little inspiration from that city’s classic post-punk sound, but sharpen and clean it up to make it their own version of bright, brutal shoegaze pop, exemplified by the sleek power of latest single Revellers. Here, they’re joined by fellow GBG group Pharmacist, whose latest single You Bore Me Half To Death is a sawnoff shotgun of an indie song.

Apr 27, 20:00-01:00, Landet

GIG: MARCUS ADMUND FUNCK
“In July 2006, 16 years old, I vomited behind a box on Östra Gotland. Straight after, I hopped onstage with my Yamaha guitar – covered in stickers I bought from punk and country bands from Brooklyn and Los Angeles on MySpace – and murdered the concept of a live performance. It was my first show”. Thirteen years later, Marcus Admund Funck is finally releasing his first solo music (much if the intervening time has been spent in his band Honeymilk). Debut single Lazarus is a slow-burning, spilt-drink ballad, and you can see him play it live at Bongo Bar on Saturday.

Apr 27, 21:00-01:00, Bongo Bar

GIG: KNASH
And the final entry in this weekend’s indie trilogy, rollercoaster pop six-strong indie gang KNASH have a new single, Easy, out on Friday, and they’re celebrating with a release show at Bar Brookyn. Ahead of that show, Feministisk Marknaden will be taking over the venue between 18:00-22:00 for a little slick shopping.

Apr 27, 18:00-03:00, Bar Brooklyn

PHOTOGRAPHY: PHOTOMARKET
Fotografiska is the obvious choice to be the host for PhotoMarket, one of Sweden’s biggest photography fairs. It’s a place for photographers, both professional and amateur, to share tips and knowledge, with plenty of lectures and seminars. Speakers include Alison Jackson, Brutus Östling and Mia Galde.
Apr 26-28, Fotografiska

BAR: MOSEBACKETERRASSEN
The terrace with the city’s best views opens up for the season this weekend, and happily, you can read more about that here.
