Art is an incredible thing to view and even more so to own but, with the prices of some of the finest of art pieces skyrocketing, it has become an impossibility for many to purchase things for their homes. Affordable Art Fair has started a concept where this has become much easier to do. World-renowned artists and up-and-coming recent graduates offer up some of their most classic and interesting pieces to be sold at a reasonable price.
In a welcoming and warm atmosphere, Affordable Art Fair will provide a platform where people can come and view exquisite paintings, sculptors, prints, and photography and have the chance to own the ones they fall in love with without breaking the bank. One of the artists that will be showing her work at the event is Stockholm-based street artist Carolina Falkholt, who is the dictionary definition of unique and innovative when it comes to her work. But there are many more interesting names to get acquainted with – and it won’t ruin you, either. We got to have a small chat with artist Carolina Falkholt to see what she’s all about.
What drew you to this type of artistry?
There was the fascination of the speed and size of graffiti and a number of other complex components.
How do you define your style as a street artist?
I’m an experimenting artist working with monumental, improvised, site specific and political paintings.
What role do you think street artists play in Stockholm’s art scene?
Street artists are by no mean a homogeneous group and they play a diverse role like artists in general tend to play in big cities.
What kind of work will you be displaying at the Affordable Art Fair?
Screen-print and I will be doing a live painting on site.
Visit Affordable Art Fair at Magasin 9 between Oct 3-6
