Alexandra Trizna exhibits her latest collection of artwork entitled Interaction Between Galaxies at Gallery Gåtfullkonst from November 17-25. Inspired by everyday life, Trizna uses rich colors to play with the idea of unity and space in her work.
Becoming an artist has been a lifelong dream for the Russia artist. She initially studied at St.Petersburg Academy of Art and Design and at Bornholm in Denmark before moving to Stockholm earlier this year. Her work has already been featured in galleries throughout Scandinavia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and the US.
Trizna works with synthetic materials, acrylics, oil, etching, silkscreen, mono-type and graphic materials but says Plexiglas is her favorite material because it allows her to make transparent double-sided paintings. We spoke with the artist to find out what visitors can expect from her forthcoming exhibition.
How do you feel about exhibiting in Stockholm again?
Incredible! This is only the second exhibition I have ever done in Sweden so I’m really exited.
What made you decide to live in Stockholm?
I really feel that Stockholm is the right place for me, the size of the city, the people and the atmosphere. It’s all lovely.
What can visitors expect to see?
Unusual paintings and different techniques, it’s a very original collection. I’m hoping to awake some philosophical ideas and thoughts in people when they see my paintings.
Her exhibitions is showing at Gallery Gåtfullkonst on Vikingagatan 22 from November 17 – 25.
