Acclaimed musician, writer and artist Patti Smith is no stranger to Stockholm. If you didn’t have a chance to catch her at Stockholm Music and Arts festival, Kulturhuset gives you the opportunity now to see her first photography exhibition in Sweden.

Eighteen Stations is something of a companion exhibition to Smith’s sort-of memoir M Train (2015). Indeed, if you’ve read M Train, you might spot a few of the photos from the book featured in the exhibition. The photography reflects the themes and nuances of the book, whilst mediating on the passage of time and act of artistic creation.
In connection with Eighteen Stations, Kulturhuset presents ‘Patti Smith’s Library.’ This is an opportunity to borrow books that Smith claims her work was most inspired by. The exhibition is curated by Robert Miller Gallery and produced by Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.

Eighteen Stations by Patti Smith is on display at Kulturhuset until 19 February. Guided tours will be available in both Swedish and English.
