Weekend

GIG: ANNA & THE SEA
Live music returns to Nomad this weekend with a performance by Anna & The Sea. The project of Anna Lindström, she’s released two EPs this year, Söräng and Out Of The Blue, ranging in musical style from gentle chamber-folk to sun dappled indie pop. She brings that sunshine to Nomad’s spacious inner garden on Saturday.

CLUB: OSIGNAT
Kvarteret’s label takeovers continue this weekend, with Osignat taking their place in the driver’s seat. As the name implies, Osignat is a collective comprised of unsigned producers, DJs, and artists, dreaming and working in the various musical equipment-stuffed bedrooms of Stockholm. Having spent the last couple of years giving some of the best up-and-coming producers their starting point into the industry, this will be their first ever label day. Their DJs take over Kvarteret, along with special guest, techno and house DJ Paul Woolford.

CINEMA: MARY OCH HÄXANS BLOMMA
Mary Och Häxans Blomma (Mary And The Witch’s Flower in English), is an anime film from the Japanese studio  Studio Ponoc, about a girl who ends up enrolling in a college for witches. It’s getting its Swedish premiere at Bio Rio this weekend, in the original Japanese with Swedish subtitles. Doors open at 17:00.

BRUNCH: NYA CARNEGIEBRYGGERIET
Maybe a Sunday afternoon brunch is the best way to decompress from the weekend and reluctantly get in the zone for a new week. The Nya Carnegiebryggeriet are serving brunch on Sundays with probably more different varieties of craft beer than you can even imagine.
Aug 12, 12:00-17:00, Nya Carnegiebryggeriet
