FOLK N’ COUNTRY X-MAS

theballroomband

Södra Teatern, December 12th

Are you a fan of classic folk instruments, sweat and the sweet sensation of loss of body control? If so, your Thursday night is about to include exactly that thanks to The Ballroom Band. Influenced by the bands of the late 60s and early 70s, they take pride in seeing themselves as a unit, where no one has a more prominent role than anyone else. The mandolin and steel guitar get just as much room as the banjo and the drums. The process of recording and the passion for playing music together is the core of The Ballroom Band. They love what they are doing.

Christian Kjellvander has been a well-known name for Swedes for quite some time now. The singer-songwriter has always leaned against americana and country influenced music with a Swedish touch. Kjellvander has been performing as a solo artist since 2002, but after guest appearing with The Ballroom Band earlier this year, they have been touring together as a roaring americana monster.

But, taking a break from their ordinary tour, Christian Kjellvander and The Ballroom Band will be performing a special Folk n Country X-Mas show. Pelle Andersson, frontman of The Ballroom Band, is convinced that people are tired of the regular christmas shows with glitter and glamour. He thinks people need to experience something that is genuinely moving, which according to him this show will be. It looks like the night will be one of the most ridiculous christmas shows this year. Who would want to miss that?
