Over the past three years, Kafé Esaias has earned the honor of often being called the place of the best cup of coffee in Stockholm. The renowned food blog “A life worth eating” even named it the 5th best cup in the world. And now it’s time to spread the Reuben and Chemex coffee love a bit further north, to Odenplan to be precise, where the team’s new café, Orion, will find its home.

“Regulars of Kafé Esaias will recognise the ambitious level of the coffee and food, as well as some staff members, and we will offer an internationally inspired café and bistro menu based on local products,” says Calle Jurell. “As for the location, we’ve been looking for a place at this spot for the past three years. It’s like an oasis that combines the lush greenery of Norrtullsgatan, the preferred walkway of the neighborhood, with the energetic pulse of Odenplan. The pace will pick up even more in two years’ time when the commuter train station opens up, making Odenplan station the second busiest in Sweden. But despite the ideal location, there are surprisingly few quality cafés and coffee bars in the area.”

Kafé Orion opens up at the end of November.
