Ok, think about a burger. Pretty simple right? You weren’t born yesterday, you know what a burger is. Now think a little harder, and imagine a burger with bacon on it. Also not too hard right? Burgers with bacon is a pretty normal thing to encounter, a pretty simple and popular concept. However, what if you took it on a wild swing into a new direction? That’s what the bourbon brand Bulleit Bourbon and the slider restaurant Lådan have done, and come up with bacon jam. A spread for your burger, the jam’s recipe consists of onion, garlic, chipotle chilli, muscovado sugar, coffee, bacon (obviously) and Bulleit Bourbon. The bacon jam will be available on Lådan’s sliders from June 15, and if this acquired taste grabs your fancy you can also buy jars at the restaurant for as long as they’re in stock.
“We got to Bulleit Bourbon Bacon Jam through carefully simmering Korvhantverket’s certified bacon with onions, garlic, muscovado sugar, chipotle chilli, coffee, and most important of all – Bulleit Bourbon. That concentrates the flavour and gives it a thick consistency, which you just want to spread on everything you can”, says Lådan’s Jon Widegren.
