Arguably Sweden’s foremost furniture designer of all time, Carl Malmsten has left a considerable legacy, composed not just of the iconic furniture he created but also in schools where the craft of furniture design can prosper.

In October, an exhibition celebrating Malmsten’s life and work as a designer and architect will go ahead at Waldemarsudde, Djurgården. The exhibition highlights his design work (toys and instruments as furniture) and his achievements within the educational field, as well as how he has influenced modern design – also when it comes to sustainability.

We furthermore get the chance to sample works and craftsmanship in his spirit that have sprung up due to his endeavours within education in Sweden.
