Jonas Teglund runs the combined book publisher and record company Teg Publishing, and so far they have released work by indie icon Mattias Alkberg, philosopher Nina Björk and singer Annika Norlin among others.
Jonas also plays in a range of bands, spending most of his recent time with Hurula, but he has also played a part in Amanda Bergman’s upcoming album.
Originally from Luleå in the far north, Jonas has lived in Stockholm for a few years, even if he calls his housing past a bit “hazy”.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m doing at least two records that are going to be finished this year. Then we have a range of projects with Teg Publishing – books this fall, a short film and a podcast.
What are your favourite night spot in Stockholm?
Snösätragränd.
Bars?
ICA Folkungagatan, Malmgrenska, Läckerbiten.
How about restaurants?
Tbilisis Hörna (in Björkhagen) and Häktet, by Mariatorget.
What is your favourite thing about Stockholm?
The fact that it is the city in Sweden with the most Luleå people per capita. Stockholm just swallows people and it is disgusting on a structural level, but on a more personal level I’m happy to be living with and in the proximity of such amazing company.
How can it get better?
I’m looking forward to a financial crash and everything becoming owned by the State.
What are your plans for the future?
To keep going. Finish the records that I work on, play live and release some books.
You are doing a lot of musical collaborations. What do you like about it?
Well, what do you say? The answer to that question is so simple that it feels silly – making music with others is what I love the most. Especially with people that I respect and feel strongly about. It is the single most motivational thing that I know.
