Shane Gonzales is a Los Angeles-based designer, who established his brand Midnight Studios when he was just 19. That was four years ago, and things have moved fast for the label, and they’re now reached another milestone, as Converse have pulled them out for a collaboration. Midnight Studios have put out their takes on the Chuck 70 and One Star sneakers, which stick to a minimal design ethos that strips the shoe back for an exposed, austere look. Gonzales says: “In the past with our collections, we’ve simply turned staple garments in everyday wardrobe inside out for a whole new look and energy, exposing raw edges and seams for a deconstructed feel. Applying this to our favourite sneakers was a no-brainer”.
