This thrilling play, written by Lillian Hellman in 1934, comes to life at Dramaten. De oskyldiga, best known for its screen adaptation in 1961 with Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine, is a story about two girls, Karen and Martha, and their life tangled in a web of lesbian love, scandal, and lies at a boarding school. This adaptation, which is Lillian Hellman’s first at the Royal Dramatic Theater, is directed by Jenny Andreasson. Andreasson is known for working mainly with pieces with prominent female playwrights that often deserve great recognition.
The leads, Karen and Martha, will be played by Eva Röse and Jessica Liedberg.
De oskyldiga opens at September 5 at Dramaten
