Fria Fotografers Filial

Fria Fotografers Filial was initially born at Kulturhuset in 2016 after an idea by their then Art/ Design and Fashion head Karina Ericsson Wärn: “In the 1980s I ran Gauss Fotografiskt Galleri together with some friends. We showed exhibitions with photographers who are now unbelievably big names, but we were most of all interested in strong stories, regardless of who was behind the camera. It was to give everyone a chance that we launched Fria fotografers filial, an exhibition without barriers, that we want to be open for all. One can see it as a democracy project”. The exhibition accepts submissions from the general public, and collects the work of over 100 photographers, from experienced pros to people picking up a camera for the first time.
