Guide Michelin came to town (or rather Copenhagen) to announce this year’s recipients of its stars.
For the first time, Sweden has a three-Michelin-star restaurant. Chef Björn Frantzén reopened his eponymous restaurant in September 2017, after closing it in 2016 to move to a bigger space. No more than a few months into service, Frantzén seems to have achieved the close to impossible by receiving all of three stars.
“Björn Frantzén has created a unique vision of Nordic cuisine, combining sublime ingredients with astounding culinary techniques,” said Michael Ellis, International Director of the Michelin guides. “Björn Frantzén’s gastronomic expression is truly worth the journey, and is a gustatory experience like no other.”
In Stockholm, the two other new star-catchers were Aloë and Agrikultur, each awarded a single star.
