The rapid rise of Hinds is a testament to the virtue of simplicity. The Madrid four-piece didn’t do anything particularly dramatic or complex to gain attention; they just wrote a set of scrappy, lo-fi indie songs packed with charm and energy and won the world over to their side. Despite a minor blip when they were forced to change their name (it had been Deers before they were sued into a name change by a band called Dears) they’ve become enormously popular over the last 12 months and their debut full-length Leave Me Alone was a highlight of the year for many. They play at Debaser Medis on November 22, with support from Gothenburg rock duo Pale Honey.
