“I think if you listen to it you’ll hear that it’s Holy Now. A continuation. But with a new producer you’re always going to have a different sound. We never have a lot of time in the studio, we had to put it all together in three days, that’s the way we’ve always had to do it. We record everything live, except for the vocals, and extra guitar sounds and stuff. We work really fast, and I think that’s one of the things we like as well. You can still hear the imperfections, and that’s something I like”. That’s how Holy Now’s Julia Olander described their upcoming debut album, when she spoke to our sister magazine Totally Gothenburg a few months ago. The first single from that album, Feel It All, has now arrived, and it shows a huge step in the band’s songwriting, a move from scrappy indie to smooth and shining pop. And with the record due this spring, you can catch a preview of it when the band play live at Lazy Octopus‘ label night at Obaren on Wednesday. They’re joined by labelmates and garage-rockers Lion’s Den, another band that are due to release new music soon after their 2016 album won “Årets Rock” at Manifestpriset. Garageland and HYMN’s Felix Lindén and Klubb To The Rescue‘s Iida Hellström DJ. Entry is free.
