I’ve heard an awful lot of song lyrics this year, but none that have been quite as good as one from Honeymilk’s single Trip: ““Like a dog needs a lamppost, I need you”. I mean, as far as self-deprecating love song lyrics go, it’s hard to beat. Honeymilk have more than that in their locker though, and Trip is a great example of what they do well as a band: breezy, super-melodic indie rock. Their second album, I Want You To Be Very Happy, has been in the works for a while now, and finally arrived on January 26. They’re celebrating this weekend with a release party with HYMN at Södra Teatern on February 2.
