Although the streaming service only pays artists a fraction of a cent per stream, and thus not worth so much in monetary terms, 12 million plays on Spotify is still a lot. But it is a good indicator of popularity, and the fact that Stockholm singer Léon’s debut EP Treasure racked up that amount of plays proves that she’s already a pretty big deal. Treasure is four songs of slick, well-produced electronic pop with more than a little hint of Tove Lo about it, and she’ll play it in Sweden for the first time at Debaser Strand on April 9. With DJs from Popaganda, it promises to be a hell of a night.
