Stockholm Pride

In the middle of what feels like the warmest summer in human history, Stockholm Pride has the good fortune to be returning to the city. This year the celebrations run for just over a week, kicking off on Friday July 27 and continuing until Sunday August 5, and the city has the extra honour of being the host for the Europride celebrations this year. We’ve put together a list of some of the best events happening during the celebrations.

FRIDAY JULY 27: KICK OFF
Stockholm Pride gets started at Kungsträdgården on Friday with concerts in collaboration with Putte I Parken. Gunilla Backman, Evelina Olsén, Gladys del Pilar, Linda Lampenius, Victoria Tocca and Plommons, Sweden’s first female rock band, all play live.
Jul 27, Kungsträdgården, 18:00-20:00

TUESDAY JULY 31: AFTER BEACH #10
The After Beach club goes Pride next Tuesday. ISAbella plays back to back with Bella Sarris, along with ambient and visual DJ Kliin. Doors open at 20:00 and the club stays open until 03:00.

Jul 31, Trädgården, 20:00-03:00

SATURDAY JULY 28: TECHNOBASTUN ALTERNATIVA PRIDE PARK
Here’s the big big party of the opening weekend. Technobastun are going all in at Kvarteret on Saturday, with something between a club night and a festival that’s running for 15 hours. A huge amount of acts are booked in to play or DJ (check the link below – don’t have time to write them all here) including AMKosman live, Fatima Osman and Mr Tophat.

Jul 18, Kvarteret, 14:00-05:00

SATURDAY JULY 28: ISSA BALL
Stockholm’s relatively new queer club ISSA BALL opens its doors for only the third time at Södra Teatern on Saturday. Life outside of boring norms, drum’n’bass, hip-hop, reggaeton and more are all on the menu. Kirikou, Valerie & Agri, Rasuul and DJ Taro all play.

Jul 28, Södra Teatern, 22:00-03:00

THURSDAY AUGUST 2: Q U E E R E V a H !
Morfar Ginko’s annual Pride party takes place next Tuesday. The club’s two dancefloors will be packed with laser shows, gogo dancers and more, and Lebb Zeppelin and Siri von Essen DJ upstairs while DATE (Ji Nilsson, Hanna Stenman and Julia Spade) play the cellar. The barbers and tattoo studio are also open, and entry is free.

Aug 2, Morfar Ginko, 22:00-03:00

THURSDAY AUGUST 2: CINEMA QUEER
Cinema Queer obviously aren’t letting the chance to take part in Pride go by. They’re throwing a party on the beach at Kungsholmen on Thursday, and showing the Bianca Del Rio film Hurricane Bianca 2: From Russia with Hate!.
Aug 2, Smedsuddsbadet, 21:00-05:00

FRIDAY AUGUST 3: HUMAN RIGHTS CONFERENCE
Kulturhuset is being transformed into the EuroPride House, hosting multiple different events during the festival, and on August 3 the Human Rights Conference takes over the building, with talks and conversations on rights, values and more.
Aug 3, Kulturhuset/Europride House, 12:00-18:00

FRIDAY AUGUST 3: LESBIANS OUT LOUD
LOL-Lesbians Out Loud takes over at Södran Friday next week. Tami T and Naz Lions play live, and Azarjoon, MyNa Do (Mahoyo) and Sofiabulous (P*fect) DJ. Chaos-electronica collective Drömfakulteten take over down at the Etablissemanget.
Aug 3, Södra Teatern, 22:00-03:00

SATURDAY AUGUST 4: STOCKHOLM PRIDE PARADE
And this one’s a pretty obvious call. Stockholm’s Pride Parade is the largest in the Nordic countries, with around 45,000 attendees, and this year starts on Kungsholmen before winding up towards the Pride Park at Stadion. It’s a 4km route, and it starts at 13:00.
Aug 4, Stadshuset, 13:00-16:00
