Crack an Egg

Helena Lund Ek is a mixed media artist based in Stockholm, working with painting, sculpture, collage and more. Her new exhibition Crack An Egg takes a look at the strength and struggle behind sorrow. The artworks on display here explore the struggle between the physical body and the emotions that both drive and deter it. The exhibition bio states “Sorrow depends on strength to exist; mourning is a fist fight, tears seize energy, melancholy is resolute. But when agony circumvents rationality and encamps flesh, muscles, veins, organs, how do we instruct the body to withstand?”. Crack An Egg consists of paintings and sculptures in a variety of sizes and using a variety of techniques.  It opens at TEGEL Stockholm on Saturday, and is on display until November 24.
