Weekend

FESTIVAL: PUTTE I PARKEN
The multi-city music festival Putte I Parken will be back in Stockholm in July. The festival, which also takes place in Karlstad and Leksand this year, has just announced its line-up for the Stockholm edition. Ängie, Lilla Namo, Dotter, Esther Vallee, Shirin, Joy, The Magnettes, Orkid, Hanna Larsson & Andrea, Amanda Fondell, Py Bäckman and Mimi Werner will be coming to Kungsträdgården at the end of July. More artists will be announced in future. As you might have noticed, the Stockholm line-up is 100% female this year. Festival organiser Niclas Lagerstam says this was intentional. “We have chosen to only book female acts to Putte I Parken in Stockholm because we want to book with equality in mind across all our festivals. We have reached that goal in Karlstad, so that’s great. We have absolutely not reached it in Leksand, and so we even out the total by booking only female artists for Stockholm. We want to take our responsibility for equality on the stage, and we are enormously glad with the great line-up we have gotten for Stockholm” he said, reports Nöjesguiden.

Jul 27-28, Kungsträdgården

FILM: A BEAUTIFUL PLANET
The documentary A Beautiful Planet was filmed over 15 months from the ISS International Space Station, both as a tribute to the earth’s beauty and a glimpse into the lives of the astronauts who make the station their home. It’s being shown at midday at Naturhistoriska Museet almost every day this summer, with a Swedish voiceover by Clara Henry.

Jul 27, 28, 29, 12:00, Naturhistoriska

CLUB: TECHNOBASTUN
Here’s the big big party of the opening Pride weekend. Technobastun are going all in at Kvarteret on Saturday, with something between a club night and a festival that’s running for 15 hours. A huge amount of acts are booked in to play or DJ (check the link below – don’t have time to write them all here) including AMKosman live, Fatima Osman and Mr Tophat.

Jul 18, Kvarteret, 14:00-05:00

CLUB: ISSA BALL
Stockholm’s relatively new queer club ISSA BALL opens its doors for only the third time at Södra Teatern on Saturday. Life outside of boring norms, drum’n’bass, hip-hop, reggaeton and more are all on the menu. Kirikou, Valerie & Agri, Rasuul and DJ Taro all play.
