‘Asado’ is the Argentinian equivalent of a barbecue, and is a huge part of Argentinian cuisine and culture. Traditionally a meat-heavy meal, it’s a social event where neighbours, friends and relatives come together around the grill, usually an open fire. Restaurant Kommendören is going big on Asado culture, as they bring their own version of it to life in Stockholm during sportlov week. They’ve put together a special Asado menu, with dishes including Picanha a la parilla (beef from the grill with chimmichurri) and Espetos de pulpo (Octopus skewers). They’re also importing a little more from Buenos Aires in their drinks menu, as they’ll be serving the signature cocktails of three BA bars, a Bison TT from Frank’s Bar (vodka, green tea, lime, ginger, cherry bourbon), the El Hombre Sandia from 878 Bar (Gin, watermelon, sage, lime, syrup) and The Basil Baby from The Clubhouse (Rum, apple juice, basil, sugar, lime).
Kommendören’s chef Richard Sävenberg says “I’m really looking forward to working with the Argentinean kitchen and I think that our guests will appreciate a pre-taste of summer from our open-coalfire grill”.
