Seems like the duo is a match made in heaven. When apart the two weren’t even scratching the surface of stardom. As soon as the two came together – poof, magic! And then fans have followed. The two are no doubt talented on their own but there is something that just clicks with the tracks they have produced together.
Macklemore has been rapping professionally since about 2000 and released his first EP Open Your Eyes that year under the name “Professor Macklemore.” After dropping “Professor” from his stage name he went on to release a full album in 2005, The Language of My World.
Ryan Lewis has been producing music and DJing since 2006 and is based in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. Lewis had originally worked with photography but had a deep interest in music production. After just a few trials working with Macklemore to produce some tracks, he decided to go ahead with his career in music. He first collaborated with Macklemore in 2008 to produce their first EP, The VS.
With the track “Thrift Shop” from the duo hitting #1 on the U.S. Billboard Top 100, it’s no wonder these two continue to stick together. The song is the second independent song in history to reach the #1 spot since 1994, which is a HUGE accomplishment.
This Stockholm show will be one to remember with some of their greatest hits and new ones you may never have heard before. You don’t want to miss out on this unique pair.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be at Ericsson Globe Arena on 4 October 2013.
