Luger presents:

The British indie pop band The Magic Numbers hit it directly with their debut album “The Magic Numbers” when it was released in June 2005, and even before that, they had sold out stadiums for 2000 people with just a single out. With hit singles like “Forever Lost” and “Love Me Like You” from the debut and “Take a Chance” from the sequel “Those the brokes” became Sweden favorites quickly a pop sensation. Now they finally got back to Sweden with new material.

The Magic Numbers formed in 2002 by two siblings in Hanwell outside London and consists of Romeo and Michele Stodart and Angela and Sean Gannon. The band quickly drew the attention of the likes of The Chemical Brothers and Ed Harcourt, and their debut album was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize. Following the success of “The Magic Numbers”, they released the sequel “Those the brokes” in 2006 which reached all the way up to the third spot on the Swedish album chart.

The band’s third album “The Runaway” was released in 2010 and since then it’s been quiet around The Magic Numbers – aside from a country-inspired solo album from Michele Stodart two years ago – but in the middle of August finally released their new album Alias. Judging by the new single “Shot in the Dark” has been worth the wait.

The Magic Numbers play Debaser Medis October 30th.
