SHARKS

Sharks are Sophia Englund and Susanna Friberg, a duo who’ve been releasing big, bright pop songs since they debuted with Jump back in 2014. 2018 has seen then step up the pace however, releasing two singles, Take Away and Life After Love, already this year, and they’ve squeezed in another before the end of the year.

Fuck You Good, which is about exactly what its title implies it’s about, is a smart, sharp pop song, that’s built on slick, bouncing synths and the duo’s half-cocky, half-playful girl gang vocals. The little hint of fuzz in the chorus gives the song a bit of grit and muscle, and that chorus’ sheer melodic power will hit you in the back of the head and stay there for weeks. The band say “Fuck You Good is a modern twist on Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want To Have Fun, and it’s about the fact that it’s high time for girls to be able to talk about wanting to sleep with someone because they’re good-looking, and get what they want!”

Fuck You Good is out now on Hajlife Records.
