The somewhat crazy intense twenty-five year old Thibo Girardon, known for his energetic, playful and uncompromising live shows, is coming to Stockholm. The past summer was hectic for Girardon, or Panda da Panda as his stage name suggests, touring all of Sweden with his charismatic and eclectic live show. One night Girardon had a bit too many endorphins running through his body and ended up stabbing himself in the chest with a wooden sword. Almost puncturing a lung, Girardon had to rethink that segment of his show. After the summer tour of Sweden, his debut album Flaoua Paoua was released and is showing no sign of slowing things down.
Earlier this month, he received the Music Publishers annual grant of 25.000 SEK, after his debut album being critically acclaimed since its release in August this year. Things have begun to move fast for the Skåne bred Girardon. He is currently seeing Rebecka Sheja of the house-dj-duo Rebecka & Fiona. Accompanying them during three tours up to this date, there’s no wonder his album is highly influenced by the electronic music scene. Combining dubstep-like beats, fun-loving melodies and electronic lasers with Swedish lyrics sung with a Skåne accent, his sound is definitely unique. Like Bob Hund on acid.
On Friday the 22nd, Panda da Panda will take control over Debaser Medis. Let’s just hope Girardon is still as uncompromising as always, without the stabbing part.
