Pär Strömberg, To The Mountains II

Loyal readers of Totally Stockholm might recognise Pär Strömberg’s name. He’s a regular contributor to the magazine, so it’s with some pride that we can announce his solo exhibition at Galleri Aniara. For Strömberg is not just the man behind the In Vino Päritas wine column in Totally Stockholm. He’s mainly an artist and also the recipient of The Sollentuna Kommun Cultural Award.

In response to the 60th anniversary of Harry Martinsson’s sci-fi classic Aniara, Strömberg will present a series of original paintings inspired by the epic poem. These starkly lit, monochrome works depict haunting visions of night skies, mountains and melting glaciers. They’re particularly poignant in light of environmental politics at present.

Aniara – Pär Strömberg is on display at Galleri Aniara in Sollentuna between 30 June and 20 August. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 18:00. Closed on the weekends.
