In case you didn’t know, the best Questlove meets Prince story is Questlove getting fired as Prince’s afterparty DJ and replaced with a copy of Finding Nemo. The second-best is on its way to Sweden. Since the death of the Purple One a few years ago, Questlove has come up with a way of paying tribute to the icon. He’s curated 4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince, a show that features orchestral reworks of the star’s music. With the help of Brent Fischer and Miguel Atwood Ferguson, his classics will be transformed into orchestral versions. For the Stockholm date at Annexet, they’ll be performed by The Stockholm Concert Orchestra.
Questlove says: “Because of his untimely transition: fans and supporters are trying to find solace and comfort in celebrating his music and creations. So I wanted to give them an environment to reminisce, dance, smile, cry, & sing to Prince.”
Tickets for the shows go on sale on Sep 14 via LiveNation.se
