An experimental piece of visual and musical art, inspired by an art exhibition’s “lack of urgency and patience”, is coming to Gamla Stan this March. Put together by artist Sandy Temper, the piece Making Up Stories is part of a wider masters project at KMH, and will occupy a space on Gamla Stan during the entire month. Making Up Stories is a visual EP, which will be shown for an hour every day. The idea is that the long length of time the visitor has to spend with the EP will lead to a greater appreciation of the art, outside of the rapid pace at which we usually consume music today.
Sandy Temper says: “A certain patience and lack of urgency, that is often present in art exhibitions, served as inspiration for this event series. Presenting a music project over the span of a month in the same location is unconventionally repetitive and stubborn. With this I hope to shed light on the increasingly fast turnover and pace in the music industry today”.
Making Up Stories will be shown at Stora Nygatan 13, every day during March between 18:00 and 19:00.
