Hotel Radisson Blu The Strand

The Radisson Blu Strand Hotel is one of Stockholm’s oldest, which means it’s built up a fair bit of history in its time. According to the hotel’s historians, Greta Garbo and Ingrid Bergman were both visitors to its restaurants and bars in the past, as were floods of theatre stars popping by for a post-show drink from Dramaten across the water. But even the most glamorous locales need a freshening up every now and then, and that’s exactly what the hotel has done. After a series of renovations, they’re opened up The Strand.

The Strand is the hotel’s new restaurant, a Swedish brasserie designed by the architecture group Wingårdhs (as has the rest of the hotel’s renovation). Here, guests and Stockholmers can grab breakfast, lunch or dinner, as well as the Strand’s specialities After One (afternoon tea) and Brunch. Restaurant Head Gaspar Roa says: “We focus on locally produced and organic [ingredients] and flavours you recognise, love and want to share with your nearest and dearest. At The Strand we’re like one big family, and everyone is welcome. This is the place for a cosy dinner or a fun after work”. The Strand will also have jazz and soul nights, as well as DJs for the After Five (after work) evenings. The Strand is open from now.
