Swedish Hip-Hop Gets Remixed At Kulturhuset

Posted October 20, 2017 in Arts

In the exhibition Folkmusik 2.0 – svensk hiphop remixad the Swedish hiphop scene is portrayed by a broad range of current artists. The exhibition is an audio-visual experience showcasing the hiphop genre as one of the current era’s most important cultural forces. A culture that constantly develops and takes new forms.
The style, the language and the identity is showcased through the most influential songs – all the way from Neneh Cherry’s Buffalo Stance right up to Erik Lundin’s recent Suedi.

“We want to create an experience built on samples from Swedish hiphop, from 1983 to eternity,” explains Erik Hedman, the curator for the project.

Folkmusik 2.0 – svensk hiphop remixad is on display at Galleri 5, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern until January 28
