Tove Ditlevsen was one of Denmark’s most celebrated poets and writers, with many finding new ways to honour and interpret her work. Her novel Barndommens Gade (The Childhood Street) was made into a film, and was soundtracked by several of her poems set to music by the Danish musician Anne Linnet.
Now a guest performance by the Sort Samvittighed art collective at Kulturhuset aims to find a new way to bring Ditlevsen’s work to life. Tove! Tove! Tove! Is a free interpretation of the writer’s poems, essays and stories that aims to capture the powerful honesty that made Ditlevsen so famous.
With 40 sold-out shows at the Royal Danish Theatre, it was a huge success last year in Denmark and now Stockholm has a chance to see what all the excitement is about.
