“Most of the songs in this solo project are fundamentally based on one-take recordings. Which are then recorded again, polished and tided up with a little extra instrumentation. I think it’s audible that the songs are more intuitively recorded than the ones I have done with earlier projects. They don’t follow such clear structures, with chorus and verse and so on, but are more written from what happens in the moment. The 90’s influence is also more audible in these songs than in my earlier bands. More grunge-y”. Therese Lither said this to us when we spoke to her in February, and now her debut EP is finally out. Therese Lithner is a poised mix of gloomy, gothic art-rock and scrappy, Angel Olsen-esque melody. You can see Lithner bring it to life on Wednesday when she plays live at Lydmar Music. She’s joined by Riga Tiger, whose sunny guitar-pop will bring the sunshine to the show. It kicks off at 16:00. Popagandaministeriet DJ.
