Too Much Skin, Taste & Turpentine

Posted October 25, 2012 in Arts

Anton Henning’s work is best described as Gesamkunstverk: a total work of art. As well as paintings, Henning’s exhibitions include his own furniture, lights and personal objects to create a voyeuristic space where you can see – and be seen.

His numerous nude portraits or Pin-ups challenges our notions of good taste and is a critique of the nudist culture which emerged in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s.

Henning’s exhibition is the largest that Magasin 3 has arranged for a single artist. It runs until December 9.
