Have you ever held a deep desire to try crocodile meat? Well now you’ll get your chance with other delicacies from Southern USA food culture as Vassa Eggen are playing tribute to New Orleans with Mardi Gras celebrations next week. The colour and energy of a traditional New Orleans Mardi Gras is what they’re trying to import into Stockholm for a week, and they’re starting with a Louisiana-inspired menu: frogs legs, Southern Comfort-glazed ribs, BBQ brisket, and Fried Snickers as dessert. But the headline dish here is crocodile meat, served as part of two sausage dishes. The drinks menu also comes in a New Orleans flavour, with cocktails with titles like Mississippi Heartbreak and Voo-ka-ray and a new range of milkshakes.
“Mardi Gras has always been close to our hearts at Vassa Eggen. Our intention is that the food should feel as authentic as possible, as if one were in New Orleans. It’s an exciting week of creation in the kitchen, and just like earlier years we believe our guests will appreciate it. Our menu offers food experiences you won’t get at any other Stockholm restaurant”, says Linda Engberg of Vassa Eggen.
Mari Gras week at Vassa Eggen kicks off on February 27 and ends with a surprise fest on March 3.
