Weekend

GIG: MAN DUO
Jaakko Eino Kalevi is, together with Norway’s Farao, responsible for one of the greatest covers of all time. He’s also, with Sami Toroi, Finnish duo Man Duo. Their music is pop pushed into the weird, glowing melodies paired with oddball electronics. They play at Tak on Saturday, and Julia Wallin guest DJs, along with residents Nadja Chatti and David & Love.

Mar 17, 20:00-02:00, Tak

GIG: ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF
There’s no messing around here: Anna Von Hausswolff is probably one of most talented and captivating musicians working in Sweden today. Her new album Dead Magic is the feeling of being at the centre of a hurricane, a musical tour-de-force of dark, warped gothic rock. She brings its strange magic to Berns this weekend, with support from The Hanged Man.

Mar 18, 19:00-23:00, Berns

GIG: CHEMTRAILS/ KLASS II
PNKSLM-signed UK band Chemtrails sound like indie-rock music washed in acid, bright, peppy songs corroded and twisted into something entirely new. Their debut album Calf Of The Sacred Cow landed this year, and they’re now coming over to Sweden for a show. They play Landet on Saturday with Gothenburg shoegaze band Klass II as support, hosted by Heaven Up Here.

Mar 17, 20:00-01:00, Restaurang Landet

MUSIC: GREKISK KONSTMUSIKFESTIVAL
And for a change of musical pace, there’s the Greek art music festival. Here is where you’ll find all aspects of classical Greek music, with recitations of the old works of Sapfo and Dimoula set to music, along with modern Greek compositions. It comes to Musikaliska on March 17.
Mar 17, 15:00-19:30, Musikaliska

CLUB: EVELINA & SENAIT
Evelina Åslin and Senait Tesfai are a DJ duo, and they took our DJ questionnaire a while ago. They’re in charge at Mosebacke Etablissement this weekend, playing everything from hip-hop to Soundcloud hits.
Mar 17, 22:00-03:00, Mosebacke Etablissement
