Weekend

SHOPPING: INGRID YARD SALE
Considering they’ve worked with some of Sweden’s most famous artists like Peter, Bjorn & John and Lykke Li, record label INGRID‘s storage rooms probably are Swedish music’s equivalent to the Vatican archives in terms of all the weird stuff that’s collected in there over the years. You might have a chance to pick up something from their ultra-rare collection this weekend: they’re having a yard sale at their offices, with merch, vinyl, old music gear, memorabilia and ‘surprises’ promised on sale.
Mar 10, 12:00-17:00, Björngårdsgatan 3

PHOTOGRAPHY: FOTOMÄSSAN
Camera person? Then Fotomässan is probably the place to be this weekend, with three days of exhibitors, seminars, new products and exhibitions filling up Stockholmsmässan. Whether you’re an obsessive, or just someone looking to pick out the best new lens, it might be something to sharpen your skills.
Mar 9, 10, 11, 10:00-18:00/19:00, Stockholmsmässan

FILM: SILVANA
Silvana Imam is one of the biggest stars around, and right now Mika Gustafson, Olivia Kastebring and Christina Tsiobanelis’ documentary about the artist, Silvana – Väck mig när ni vaknat, is one of the most acclaimed documentaries. Here, Tempo Festival have in collaboration with Mångkulturellt centrum i Fittja organised a showing of the documentary. Entry is free, but first-come-first-served, and it starts at 13:00.

Mar 11, 13:00-14:00, Mångkulturellt centrum i Fittja

CHILDRENS: BYGG DITT EGET INSTRUMENT
Want something new to do with the kids this weekend? Maybe check out Scenkonstmuseet, who’s ‘Build Your Own Instrument’ workshop (aimed at kids four and up) returns this Sunday. The fee is covered by an entrance ticket to the museum.
Mar 11, 13:00-15:00, Scenkonstmuseet

GIG: LAMINE CISSOKHO
The kora is a twenty-one string instrument, popular in West Africa, and the Senegalese musician Lamine Cissoko is one of the instrument’s masters. He currently lives in Kalmar, and put together an album, Kora+1, with some Swedish musicians and the producer Karl Jonas Winqvist. That album came out last year, and now you can see Cissoko bring it to life in Stockholm. He plays the Nomad Bar on Saturday.

Mar 10, 17:00-23:00, Nomad Swedish Food & Bar
