GIG: PALE HONEY
Pale Honey‘s self-titled debut was a highlight of 2014, a heavy calibre rock record that was full to bursting with big, powerful songs. Now they’re on the trail for album number two, slated for spring 2017, and the first flash from that album is their new single ‘Real Thing’, a riff-heavy creature that follows the classic Pale Honey template to a tee. They launch it with a release party at Kåkan on Friday night, so get down there to get a glimpse of the band’s plans for the new album.
CLUBBING: EVOLVER
EVOLVER is a collective and club that’s all about exploring the dark, weird fringes of dance music and pushing it in strange directions. They’re taking hold at Under Bron this Friday, with AIDS-3D, HAJ300, AL TARIQ, IINATTI, Malin Wester and more playing live.
THEATRE: DORIAN GRAYS PORTRÄTT
Oscar Wilde’s The Picture Of Dorian Gray is one of the most notable novels ever, a story that dives deep into human ideas of hedonism, morality and the soul that provoked squalls of outrage from Victorian society upon its publication in 1890. Now dramatist Lucas Svensson and director Emil Graffman, who has previously interpreted other classics like Strindberg’s Miss Julie and Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, are taking on Wilde’s signature work. The new version examines how The Picture… relates to a modern world when the focus on beauty is just as strong as it was in Wilde’s day (which may mean that the portrait is now a selfie and Dorian experiments with the age-defying qualities of Snapchat filters, but probably not). It plays on Friday and Saturday at Stadsteatern.
Oct 14 & 16 @ 1900, Stadsteatern.
