THEATRE: INGMAR BERGMAN FESTIVAL
For those who have spent their entire lives trapped in a cave in the wilderness, devoid of information and culture in all its forms, Ingmar Bergman was quite a big deal as a director, writer and producer. In his memory Dramaten started the Ingmar Bergman International Theatre Festival in 2009, to present performances that matched Bergman’s spirit.
This year’s edition will feature Dramaten productions of plays like Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler and Mattias and Ylva Andersson’s Deformed Persona, as well as guest shows by Germany’s Maxim Gorki Theater, Danish writer and performance artist Salon Madame Nielsen and many more. It’s sure to be an unmissable festival for fans of challenging, brave theatre and art. The festival concludes this weekend.

GIG: TELLA VIV/ [INGENTING]/ NEW FEELINGS
Psych-rock trio Tella Viv (Carl Hjelm Sandqvist, Adam Odelfelt and Benjamin Lavén) gave us one of our best interviews last year (on their future plans: “going somewhere way up north in the winter and going insane in each other’s company, and seeing what good comes from that”), and now they’re throwing a party at Debaser Strand on Saturday. They’ll be playing their upcoming single ‘Resources’, and joining them on the musical side of things will be [ingenting] and New Feelings. There will also be a twister competition at 19 and designer Tommie X will be on the scene, so there’s a lot going on. In the meantime, check out their last single ‘Sworn’ below.
CLUBBING: TRÄDGÅRDEN CLOSING PARTY
You know summer’s ending when the outdoor clubs start to shut down one by one, a solemn reminder that in a couple of months it won’t be possible to spend time outside without suffering frost death. Celezte wrapped up last week, and this week it’s Trädgården’s turn, and they’ve put on a monster line-up for the occasion, including (deep breath) Jenny Seth, Joel Ighe, Camilla Almqvist Terán & Roger von Reybekiel, Jakob Grandin and many more, and with still more DJs to be announced. It all comes to an end (for the winter anyway) on Saturday.
