Ok, New Year’s Eve is probably, in the crunch of it all, a pretty overrated night out, one that looks better on Instagram than it ever can in real life. But hey, it’s a big and important night out either way. And so to help you optimise your NYE planning, we’ve put together a guide to everything (obviously not everything, but you get the idea) happening in Stockholm on Sunday.
Debaser Strand
Demokratiskt dansgolv is back at Debaser for new year. The idea is simple: two DJs are placed on either side of the dancefloor, they suggest songs, and the public votes for their favourite with their feet. DJs for the NYE edition include Festivalpodden, VHS Vision and Tom Jerry Boman.
Kåken
If you haven’t heard, Kåken is not long for this world. The Regeringsgatan nightclub says goodbye on NYE, with Vinter, Newkid and RO$ lined up to perform live and a range of DJs booked in. Eight years of Kåken says goodbye on December 31 2017.
Tak
You can also head upwards for a rooftop new year, with Tak open all day and until 3am. Glam-rockers Diskopunk perform live and Funky Loffe DJs.
Slakthuset
Slakthuset has put one of the night’s widest range of DJs and dancefloors, with crews 420 Group, Kameleont, Osignat and POP all assigned their own territory within the venue. It’s open till 5am.
Södra Teatern
Södra Teatern is overflowing with activity this NYE. Indie club Baba Sonic takes over Södra Bar with DJ sets from KITE’s Christian Berg and Nicole Sabouné, along with Ebba Wachtmeister & Annelie Enström and Baba Sonic’s own residents. Charlotte Norman and Harriet Ramato are bringing old-school hip-hop to Champagnebaren, and there’s a special shellfish dinner at Mosebacke Etablissement. Sebastian Mullaert and Steve O’Sullivan play live and Jessie Granqvist, Majkel, Martin Kling, Maya Lourenço, Anna Kohlin, Gago Cuk and Max Lindevall DJ in Kägelbanan all night till 5am.
Hornhuset
All three floors of Hornhuset are celebrating the new year with DJs including Taro, Myggan, Zoulias, Mange Schmidt, Tilde Fröling and Sotarn.

Berns
Indie collective and music platform HIGHTS take over Berns. French DJ and producer Sébastien Léger performs, along with Stockholm-based, internationally performing DJ TOKI.
Spy Bar
Spy Bar may have a lot of competition in the open till late category on NYE, but they’re sure to have a heavy night planned to welcome in 2018. They’re open for 6 hours, from 23-05.
At Six
Another way to celebrate the arrival of the next year on a rooftop, hotel At Six are opening up their Champagne Rooftop Bar for 2018. Mariam Davoodi DJs at one of the best stops to see the NYE fireworks pour over the city skyline.
Fasching
All fans of soul, disco and funk should consider heading to Fasching this weekend. The music collective Blacknuss are putting on a special NYE special, with playing high-octane covers until midnight. Then a New Year’s Disco continues until 4am.
