catfest

It seems like Youtube had only been online for a few minutes when the first internet cat video was uploaded and we all became hooked on the online crack cocaine that is feline film clips. This being the way of things, it’s about time somebody organized a festival dedicated to this Zeitgeist, and now it’s Stockholm’s turn to host it.

*Catvidfest* is the world’s first-ever festival solely focusing on cat videos and it is bound to be as amazing as ninja cat’s sneak attacks, Maru’s graceful sliding into paper boxes, and Nora’s mad piano skills.

The festival is arranged by The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and has toured the US, drawing tens of thousands of cat fanatics. The event will start with a panel discussion on the role of the Internet cat phenomenon in our society, featuring sociologists, psychologists and an internet specialist. After that, a 70-minute video package (including around 80 clips) will roll, followed by a cat-friendly club night – whatever that entails…

Catvidfest, Södra Teatern, Oct 9 plus a newly added showing Oct 10
